Seylan Bank, redefining the boundaries of higher education, will join Adyapana 2015 as its official banking partner.

Adyapana 2015 is being organised by Lanka Exhibition and Conference Services and driven by the S. Thomas’ College Old Boys Association for the 10th consecutive year. It will be held from 2-4 October at the BMICH. The theme of Adyapana 2015 is ‘Passport to your future’. Seylan Scholar is partnering Adyapana 2015 for the second consecutive year.

Today professional qualifications as well as educational qualifications have become vital to embarking on a rewarding career. With entry to State-owned universities being limited, the higher education industry in Sri Lanka has become very competitive and diverse with many private universities and institutes entering the academic field. The exhibition will be a good platform for students to find information about various courses, higher education options, job opportunities and student programs.

Adyapana, Sri Lanka’s most focused higher education and career guidance exhibition, will also feature activities such as career guidance seminars and free counselling, etc. Nearly 200 local and international higher educational institutes will showcase their courses and more than 10,000 visitors are expected.

Deputy General Manager – Marketing and Personal Banking of Seylan Bank, Tilan Wijeyesekera said: “The private institutes either have international affiliations or locally-owned educational programs.  However, pursuing either of these options requires a significant amount of investment. This becomes an obstacle to Sri Lankan students who have been educated under the free education system and parents find it difficult to invest. Understanding the importance of an educated nation for future prosperity and to make higher education accessible to students from different walks of life, Seylan Bank has introduced ‘Seylan Scholar’. This educational loan can be applied individually or jointly with parents or spouses to fulfil their dreams.”

Seylan Scholar provides financial assistance for local and foreign higher education. The loan can be applied for a maximum of Rs. 10 million with a repayment period of up to seven years. The bank has tied up with many institutes to facilitate their students’ financial needs.  The loan can be applied to pursue SLIM, CIM, AAT, CIMA, IPM, degrees, etc. It also enables working professionals to acquire post graduate qualifications such as MBAs by providing access to hassle-free funding with flexible repayment options.

Seylan Scholar at Adyapana 2015 is geared to supporting the younger generation reach their aspirations by providing financial assistance and valuable advice and guidance in career development.

In addition, rate benefits and other benefits will be provided to those who seek financial solutions at the exhibition. Seylan also welcomes any higher educational institutions to tie up with them to facilitate the financial needs of their students. The loan will cover foreign degrees with course fee, living expenses and accommodation.  Students and parents can apply for Seylan Scholar through the island-wide branch network of the bank.
