Shanaaz Preena honoured with Women Leadership Achievement Award

Shanaaz Preena, the Director of MAS Women Go Beyond Program was honoured with the Women Leadership Achievement Award at the World Women Leadership Congress (WWLC) held recently. WWLC, an International collaboration dedicated to recognize the influential and strategic role of women leaders, held their Annual Congress and Awards in Mumbai, India from 14 to 15 February 2014. The event recognised the professionalism and leadership demonstrated by women leaders in the society and their respective working industries at large. According to international business magazine, Forbes, research shows only 24% of the senior management roles are filled in by women globally. Shanaaz was among the celebrated awardees that came across from diverse fields such as FMCG, telecommunication, education, entrepreneurship, human resources in the public and private sector. “I am deeply humbled by this recognition and honoured to be appreciated amongst many nationalities in different walks of life. Although opportunities have grown for women succeeding in different capacities; striking a balance between the multiple roles in personal, professional and socio cultural context is still a challenge. I dedicate this award to all the men and women who have helped me along the way,” said Shanaaz. The award flagged her dedication in social work and her contribution in the field of Human Resource Management. She was also a fellow panellist in one of the WWLC Congress sessions that discussed the topic, “Building Foundations for Leadership: Lessons Learned from Women around the World”. Shanaaz commenced her career in MAS in 2001 as Manager HR & Administration at Slimline, Pannala. She also headed the Human Resources and Administration of MAS Intimates Division contributing to the development of people talent at MAS. She currently leads the iconic women empowerment program of MAS, as the Director of Women Go Beyond Program/Women’s Advocacy.
