Sierra Global Network Private Limited, a leading telecommunication infrastructure development and managed services company, has successfully completed stage 1 of the Sri Lanka Railway North Fibre Optical Cable (FOC) construction project by constructing the first 25Kms on time.
The Sri Lanka Railway North Fibre Optical Cable (FOC) line is being constructed as part of the reconstruction of the north railway line where the entire track from Vavuniya to Kankasanturai as well as from Medawachchiya to Talaimannar Pier was destroyed during the civil war which ended in 2009.
Kiran Infra Engineers Ltd. of India has awarded the construction contract of the Fibre Optical Cable (FOC) line to Sierra Global where the project to be implemented in few stages covering over 400Kms length giving a seamless connection between the railway stations in the Northern Province, fulfilling their communication and signalling requirements.
