One of the best known retail brands, Singer, has entered into a partnership with eZ Cash, Sri Lanka’s first mobile money network that will allow eZ Cash account holders to cash-in and cash-out money from the Singer Sri Lanka branch network island-wide. With this strategic alliance, Singer Sri Lanka PLC holds the honour of being the first corporate in Sri Lanka to integrate its ERP system with eZ Cash. “eZ Cash customers can now enjoy faster processing of withdrawals and top ups at more than 400 Singer Sri Lanka outlets namely Singer Plus, Singer Mega, Singer Homes and Sisil World across the country, giving account holders access to cash at most cities, towns and villages,” Singer Sri Lanka Senior Manager - Financial Services Viresh Gomes said. Launched in June 2012, the state-of-the-art Mobile Money technology enables mobile subscribers to maintain a mobile money account in their mobile phone. Using their eZ Cash mobile money account, customers can now send and receive money across more than 12 million Dialog and Etisalat mobile users island-wide, making payments for goods, services, utilities and for the purchase of items over the Internet; it’s as simple as sending an SMS with the aid of a user-friendly tri-lingual menu on the mobile phone. A registered eZ Cash subscriber can then top-up money in to his/her mobile phone at any one of over 16,000 eZ Cash Points across Sri Lanka. This connection between mobile money transfer and financial services infrastructure is world leading and presents the potential for new services going forward. “Our partnership with Singer Sri Lanka has facilitated new avenues to the eZ Cash service, to provide exciting new functionality not only to Singer Sri Lanka customers, but to a wider audience. In addition, eZ Cash customers can even pay for purchases from Singer via their online portal,” remarks Dialog Axiata PLC Mobile Money & Payments Senior General Manager Fariq Cader. eZ Cash received a license to operate as a Service Provider of Payment Cards from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka by regulations issued under the Payments and Settlements Systems Act No 28 of 2005. Custodial Banking services for Sri Lanka’s pioneering mobile money service is provided by Hatton National Bank PLC, and the payment system is further secured through a Trust Instrument administered by Deutsche Bank AG.
