Sirasa News First goes 2.0

It’s a question to most people whether social media is a fad or not. This was the same question that has prompted Sirasa News First to introduce an innovative digital and mobile platform yesterday.

Branded the ‘News First 2.0’, it launched a news first app, updated website and news SMS alerts.

The app is designed to run on all apple and android phones. Apple users could download the app via i-store and android users will have access on U-stream platform.

Kris Martenstyne Manager Value Added ServicesThe new website is more geared towards the mobile app on the go information seekers. While partnering with Etisalat, Dialog, Hutch and Airtel, Sirasa has designed its news alerts to be delivered via text messages catered to each individuals taste.

The new approach was made easy due to having a large base of universal information platform that did not exist in Sri Lanka several years ago.

Sirasa News first hopes to include more additions to News First 2.0 and keep the public updated while the company updates themselves with the changing technology.
