Longstanding MD/CEO of Ceylon Leather Products Plc Sitendra Senaratne has resigned with effect from 31 March.
The company has appointed its parent Lanka Century Investments Chief Operating Officer Sajeewa Ranasinghe as the Acting CEO.
Sitendra held the post of CEO/MD at Ceylon Leather Products since 2004.
He counts over 30 years’ managerial experience in marketing, manufacturing and administration. Previously he had served as the Chief Operating Officer of CW Mackie & Co. Ltd, Assistant Chief Executive of Ceymac Rubber Co. Ltd., Assistant Chief Executive of Ceytra Ltd., and Managing Director of Mackgrains Distributors Ltd.
He is a diploma holder from the University of Sri Lanka, Katubadda Campus, diploma holder in Marketing, Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK and Member of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining – UK.
Ranasinghe holds a B.Sc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Moratuwa and is a Fellow Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK, Chartered Global Management Accountant, Fellow Member of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants Sri Lanka and an Associate Member of the Institute of Engineers, Sri Lanka.
He counts over 12 years experience in senior management positions in the private sector. He was also the CFO of Lanka Century Investments Plc and Dankotuwa Porcelain Plc. He has previously worked as CFO at Orange Electric Group and presently holds the position of Treasury and Council Member of the Sri Lanka Association for the Advancement of Quality and Productivity.
Lanka Century Investments Plc holds 96% stake in Ceylon Leather Products Plc.
With the change the Board of Directors of Ceylon Leather Products Plc comprises of N.C. Peiris (Chairman), A.G. Weerasinghe, P.D.J. Fernando, P.P. Maddumage, N.M. Prakash and A. Iddawela.
