SLIIT programs in high demand following release of A/L results

SLIIT, the number one institute in higher education ranked by LMD, announced a special admission for 2014, due to the high demand following the recent release of G.C.E A/L examination results. SLIIT offers a variety of programs, which enable students to keep their knowledge up-to-date and gain entry in to the competitive job market upon completion of their selected program.
The four-year SLIIT B.Sc. Honours degree in Information Technology, is available in six fields of specialisation; Information Technology, Computer Systems and Networking, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Interactive Media and Cyber Security. Each stage in the program is designed to fit into a particular industry segment.
Modern business management calls for a multi disciplinary approach, hence the four year BBA. Special Honours degree specialises in Marketing Management, Accounting and Finance, Human Capital Management, Quality Management and Management Information Systems.
“The first two years have been designed to provide a broad knowledge in a range of disciplines and the second half of the program focuses on the respective specialised subject disciplines,” noted President and CEO of SLIIT, Professor Lalith Gamage.
He added: “All the programs we offer at SLIIT are industry oriented, which provide students with an insight to the industry, giving them an added advantage. Due to the high credibility and reputation SLIIT posses, almost all students are employed within a period of one year after graduation. Due to the high rate of student employability our courses are in great demand, which urges us to have special intakes.”
The entry requirement for the SLIIT degree program is three passes in any subject stream in one and the same sitting or equivalent at the G.C.E A/L examination (Sri Lanka/London) and a pass at the aptitude test conducted by SLIIT.
“SLIIT has thus far produced over 7,000 graduates in the field of Computing, Business, Engineering and 14,000 other IT professionals to serve our nation. We are proud to be the contributor of this many graduates and seek to maintain high standards with our professional team of staff members and foreign university partnerships,” noted Professor S. Karunaratne, Chairman of SLIIT.
These degrees are offered by SLIIT as approved by the University Grants Commission under the Universities Act. SLIIT is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities and also a member of the International Association of Universities.
