SLIM, SLBFE to set up employment agency grading scheme

The Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE) for the implementation of a grading scheme for licensed foreign employment agencies in Sri Lanka.
The MoU was signed by CEO/Executive Director Sanath Senanayake and Consultant Education and Training Kanthi Basnanayke on behalf of SLIM, and Chairman Amal Senalankadhikara and Director Susil Ranasinghe on behalf of SLBFE.
The purpose of the grading scheme is to enable SLBFE to assess the business carried out by the foreign employment agencies, recognise and reward best practices their by encourage agencies for better performance. SLIM, as the national body of marketers, will provide the expertise required for the assessment of the agencies and assist in developing the grading scheme.
“SLIM has a responsibility to uplift the standards of marketing and it is gratifying to see SLBFE striving to be more marketing oriented. The endorsement of a national corporation such as SLBFE is of great value to SLIM,” noted SLIM President Gamika De Silva.
“I appreciate the confidence the SLBFE has placed in SLIM for this project. With its expertise in the field of marketing SLIM will ensure the implementation of the grading scheme exactly as it is envisioned by the MoU,” said SLIM CEO/Executive Director Sanath Senanayake.
Senalankadhikara thanked SLIM for collaborating with the bureau for the project. “I thank SLIM for agreeing to assist the SLBFE with the grading scheme. I am confident that SLIM will implement a comprehensive and efficient system that will be of utility to the bureau in the long term.”
