SLINTEC has signed an agreement with CIC Holdings to become one of the new tenants at SLINTEC’s newly-opened Technology Incubation Centre.
CIC Holdings will relocate its Agriculture Research and Development division to SLINTEC in order to gain access to SLINTEC’s qualified science and engineering human resources and state-of-the-art equipment base. In addition to being a tenant on the Nanotechnology and Science Park, it is hoped that the partnership between SLINTEC and CIC will strengthen Sri Lankan research and development in the future. SLINTEC is a public-private partnership between the Government of Sri Lanka and major players in the private sector; namely MAS Holdings, Brandix, Dialog, Hayleys, Loadstar and most recently Lankem. SLINTEC is committed to support the small-and-medium enterprises to improve and develop their products to meet the demands of the local and international markets using nanotechnology and advanced technology solutions.
CIC Holdings is a diversified conglomerate focusing on several key pillars such as agriculture and livestock, homecare, healthcare and personal care, materials for industries and food and nutrition. CIC is renowned for constantly realigning and repositioning themselves in exploring growth sectors locally as well as globally.
CIC Holdings previously signed a research agreement with SLINTEC in September 2015 to develop a novel herbicide formulation. It is envisioned that CIC’s current research project with SLINTEC will transfer to the development phase at the Technology Incubation Centre.
