SLPA wins Silver for the stall with the best demonstration at ‘TECHNO 2011’

Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) won the Silver Award for the stall with the best demonstration at the ‘TECHNO 2011’ - National Engineering and Technology Exhibition. The award ceremony was held recently at the Galadari Hotel in Colombo under the initiative of Gotabhaya Jayarathne Secretary to the Ministry of Housing, Constructions and Engineering Services.

Sri Lanka’s premier Engineering and Technology Exhibition - ‘TECHNO 2011’ being the annual flagship event of the Institution of Engineers. Sri Lanka (IESL) organised for the 26th consecutive year was held in October at the BMICH in Colombo.  The Techno, based on its mission to uplift the living conditions and prosperity of Sri Lanka, has clearly indicated that engineering endeavours to create, maintain and develop the society’s needs and desires with the application of technology.

During the years SLPA as a pioneer Government institution that contributes immensely to the national development has won the bronze and silver awards for the stall with the best demonstration at the ‘TECHNO’ exhibitions respectively in 2008 and 2009. Communication and Public Relations Division of Sri Lanka Ports Authority acts as its institutional arm to promote services and facilities rendered by the institution locally as well as internationally.  During the years the Division has participated in a number of national and international exhibitions and events that brought glory to SLPA and the country. Communication and Public Relations Division of SLPA also keeps fair relations with local and international press and electronic media to publish and broadcast its broader objectives and timely projects that contribute the national economy to uplift the socio-economic development and wellbeing of the people of Sri Lanka. Communication and Public Relations Division of the SLPA is currently headed by the Deputy Chief Manager - (Communication and Public Relations) Nalin Aponso. Deputy Chief Operations ManagerNimal Jayatissa and Senior Manager (Communication and Public Relations) Kumari Jayasundera were also present at the occasion.
