SMED and FCCISL is forming team for trade fair in Thailand

The Small and Medium Enterprise Developers (SMED), the SME arm of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) is organising a delegation to visit ‘International Gift and Houseware Fair in Bangkok’, on 18 – 22 October 2011 at Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) in Thailand.

The SMED was launched in 1989. The primary objectives of SMED is the development and promotion of a market economy in Sri Lanka through the improvement of the competitive performances of individual of Small and Medium Enterprises, as well as the straitening of the organisations which represent the SME sector in the country.

The trade delegation focuses for importers, whole-sellers, manufactures and distributors of handicraft items, housewares and gift items, artificial flowers and plants, christmas decor, household products, toys, toys manufactures and games, stationary will be on show at the exhibition.

SMED is involving in enhancing the SME sector traders through organising a trade delegation for overseas exhibition and developing the technical knowledge of industrialist through organising the workshops, seminars, exhibitions. SME machinery, technology and services exhibition is one of the major event held once a year. For 2012 it will scheduled to be held in August for the seventh consecutive time. SMED is expecting to create business connections and market linkages through this trade visit.
