Southern Province revenue Licence goes online

The Provincial Motor Traffic Department of the Southern Province launched a facility to obtain vehicle revenue licences online for vehicles registered in the province from this week. Parallel to this, the introduction of the facility for vehicle revenue licence fee payment using credit cards or mobile phones for vehicles registered in the province, also took place on the same day, department sources said. Currently, revenue licence for vehicles registered in the Southern Province can be obtained from any of its Divisional Secretariat. Once this facility for payment is in place it can be availed of not only when the application is made online but also when it is sought by applicants physically visiting the Divisional Council Secretariat. This facility can be obtained by accessing the following website: www.srilanka.lk. The official launch of this facility took place at the Galle Labuduwa Dakshinapaya Ministerial complex on Tuesday. Secretary to the President, Lalith Weeratunga was the Chief Guest at the launch ceremony. Southern Province Chief Minister Shan Wijeyalal de Silva and Southern Province Governor Kumari Balasuriya were also present at the occasion.
