The Sri Lanka Business and Biodiversity Platform, in partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Renewable Energy, will be holding a public lecture to celebrate the ‘International Day for Biological Diversity’ on 22 May 2013. As this year’s theme for the day is ‘Water and Biodiversity’, the lecture aims to demonstrate the importance of sustainable use of water resources to the benefit of business.
The lecture, titled ‘Making business sense: Capturing the benefits of water, ecosystems services and biodiversity’, will be presented by International Water Management Institute (IWMI) Senior Fellow and Water, Land and Ecosystems CGIAR Research Program Interim Director led by IWMI Dr. Andrew Noble. The presentation will be followed by an interactive discussion with the audience. The event will commence at 5:45 p.m. at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute No. 100, Independence Avenue Colombo 7, with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Minister of Environment and Renewable Energy Susil Premajayantha, entrance is free and all are welcome.
