A special traffic plan will be implemented around Sri Lanka’s main Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake during its three-month long renovation, the Police said.
The special traffic plan will come into effect daily from 3.00 p.m. to 9.00 a.m. from 3 January to 6 April.
The BIA is undergoing major renovation for eight hours a day for three months from 6 January for the expansion of the runway. The runway is being reconstructed only after a lapse of 30 years.
The airport will be closed from 8.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. till 6 April. Flights will use the runway only at night during the renovation.
