The Sri Lanka Business and Biodiversity Platform is a forum that intends to promote strong leadership of the private sector, to learn easily and actively, obtaining technical support, sharing information, knowledge and experience, promoting best practices and dialogue with state and civil society partners on biodiversity conservation issues.

The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce has joined together with International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and Dilmah Conservation, to launch the platform and provide valuable services to Sri Lankan businesses in increasing awareness of the importance of biodiversity, and to support them in their efforts to integrate aspects of biodiversity management into their corporate activities.

The main objective of the Business and Biodiversity Platform is, to be a one-stop shop where companies could obtain information, advice and assistance in their attempts to preserve our country’s natural heritage. The Platform also hopes to publicise the efforts of the private sector, and create a network linking Sri Lanka’s businesses, Government agencies, technical experts and conservation organisations.

For more information and businesses interested in joining the Platform should contact the Platform Secretariat on the Platform’s website at www.business-biodiversity.lk, where you can find details on the services provided and events organised by the Platform, as well as projects connected to the Platform.
