Sri Lankan authorities have sought Expression of Interest (EoI) from Pakistani firms for construction of two modern hotels near Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake, according to a report in Daily Times.
Airport and Aviation Services Limited (Sri Lanka) has sent letters to all the chambers of commerce and industries in Pakistan including Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), MCCI spokesman Khurram Javed said. He said that many investors from Southern part of Punjab were taking interest in it, and added that they had sought EoIs till December 7.
According to the letter received by Pakistani CCIs, the two hotels should have at least four star facilities, each having at least 100 well furnished rooms besides facilities including indoor sports, recreational facilities, business center, conference hall, and other facilities in accordance with Sri Lanka’s Tourism Regulation and Tourism Act of 2005.
Both facilities should cater to the needs of airlines crew members, passengers and AASL would provide two pieces of land each measuring three acres on 40-year lease, extendable subject to mutual consent.
