Sri Lanka will join the 13th China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) to be held in Nanning, China this September as a Special Guest Country.
A high-ranking government official of Sri Lanka will head a business delegation to the 13th CAEXPO. The country will also arrange relevant trade promotion activities during the fair period to enhance exchange with ASEAN and Chinese enterprises.
According to the official with the CAEXPO Secretariat, as the 13th CAEXPO Special Guest Country, Sri Lankan will arrange a national promotion conference to introduce the investment policies of the country and procurement intentions of the visiting delegation during the fair period.
Information on China-Sri Lanka exchanges and tourism resources and the investment environment of Sri Lanka will be displayed at its national pavilion (F2, Section B, Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center).
In addition, Sri Lanka’s cutting-edged commodities, including agro-based products, textiles and handicrafts, will be showcased at the pavilion of commodity trade. Through the CAEXPO platform, Sri Lanka will meet and cooperate with businesses from China, ASEAN and other economies around the world.
Sri Lanka attaches great importance to the CAEXPO and the exchanges and cooperation with China and ASEAN countries. Enterprises from Sri Lanka took part in CAEXPO sessions years ago as exhibitors and trade visitors.
In a confirmation letter drafted after Sri Lanka joined the 13th CAEXPO as a Special Guest Country, local officials revealed that the CAEXPO had offered abundant opportunities for closer regional economic and trade cooperation and business interaction.
They added that Sri Lanka also extended its special thanks to the CAEXPO Organizing Committee for its full support and expressed its readiness to cooperate with the committee to ensure the success of its participation in the CAEXPO as a Special Guest Country.
The Special Guest Country is a major mechanism for the CAEXPO open to the whole globe. It aims to expand the exchanges and cooperation of China and ASEAN with other economies, thus helping enterprises further explore the international market. From 2014, this mechanism has invited a country outside the China-ASEAN region to join the CAEXPO as a Special Guest Country. Australia and ROK were both a Special Guest Country at the 11th and 12th CAEXPO respectively.
