Sri Lankan Business Council in Dubai hails President

Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa on a state visit to Dubai to attend the World Energy Forum in Dubai, UAE , was hosted for a banquet by the Sri Lankan Consulate General in Dubai and Northern Emirates, the President met the senior members of the Sri Lankan Community living in the United Arab Emirates.



At this occasion the board of Directors of the Sri Lankan Business Council in Dubai and Northern Emirates on behalf of its membership presented an appreciation plaque along with the gift to appreciate the valuable contribution of the President to the expatriate Sri Lankan business community.

The Sri Lankan Business Council in Dubai was formed in the year 1986 and evolved into a registered Business Council under the auspices of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the year 2004 consisting of Sri Lankan entrepreneurs and senior professionals in the UAE as its individual members of Sri Lankan origin coming together to encourage the development of Sri Lankan and related businesses in the UAE and promotion of Sri Lanka as a business investment destination.

The SLBC Board consists of Chairman Farook Kassim, the Vice Chairman Gamini Kannangera, the Director of Membership Mohamed Giado, the Director of Events Devanand Mahadeva, the Director of Finance Kosala Dileepa Udumalagala, the Directors of External Relations Ainsley Michael Foster and Mario Senevirathne, Ex-Officios are Consulate General M.M. Abdul Raheem, Mister Tea Promotion Ranjith Kumara Abeykoon and SriLankan Airlines Manager Sudath Kuruppu.
