Sri Lanka’s first-ever digitally-enabled multi-utility device for taxis

Sri Lanka’s premier connectivity service provider, Dialog Axiata PLC, has inked an agreement with the leader in taxi service business – 3 Wheel Lanka Ltd (Budget Taxi) for the launch of the patent-pending product, Dialog Street Smart which would facilitate innovative services that range from video advertising to mPOS (Mobile Point of Sale) enabling credit and debit card transactions. The Android based patent pending product developed by Dialog is the first of its kind in the world that facilitates innovative B2B (Business to Business) services such as a GPS (Global Positioning System) based Location Push which will allow the taxi service call centre to locate the taxi, digital metering, mPOS payments as well as the ability for B2C (Business to Consumer) services to push time based advertisements when passengers commute. mPOS is a hassle-free and cost-effective card acceptance service helps merchants on the go such as businesses with mobile sales force, home delivery services, outdoor sales operations to capture instant purchases. Dialog Along with 3Wheel Lanka will be expanding Dialog Street Smart to 500 Nano cabs and gradually expanding to three wheelers under 3Wheel Lanka by end of 2015. Dialog will be carrying out this transition with the support of its operations partner L.H Technologies.
