The President of Nepal Bidya Devi Bhandari, received the Letters of Credence from Sri Lanka’s new Ambassador to Nepal Wellage Swarnalatha Perera, at a special ceremony held yesterday, the Foreign Ministry in Nepal said.
The Nepalese President also received the Letters of Credence from Mentor Patricia Villagomez Merino, Jozef Drofenik and Jagdishwar Goburdhun, Ambassadors of the Republic of Ecuador, the Republic of Slovenia and the Republic of Mauritius to Nepal respectively at the Ceremonial Hall of the Office of the President.
Perera is residential Ambassador and Merino, Drofenik and Goburdhun are based in New Delhi with concurrent accreditation to Nepal.
Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat, Minister for Foreign Affairs, General Rajendra Chhetri, Chief of the Army Staff, Dr. Madam Kumar Bhattarai, Foreign Affairs Expert at the Office of the President, Shanker Das Bairagi, Foreign Secretary, Bhupendra Prasad Poudel, Secretary at the Office of the President and other senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were present at the occasion.
