SriLankan Airlines yesterday issued a statement clarifying the holding up of flight UL 564 in Paris early this week. Following is the full statement:

Due to certain technical deviations identified by Safety Assessment for Foreign Aircraft (SAFA) in Charles De Gaulle Airport in Paris, it necessitated the holding of UL 564 on 23 September ex Paris for rectification prior to departure.

The SriLankan Airlines technical service provider in Paris, Air France along with SriLankan Airlines engineering staff, are currently attending to these technical deviations identified according to strict European technical standards.

SriLankan Airlines assured that all passengers who were booked on the flight UL564 from Paris have been offered alternate onward flights, so that their travel plans were affected to the minimum, due to anticipated delay.

On Friday 23 September, the London to Colombo flight was diverted via Paris to uplift some of the passengers who were booked on the delayed flight. Arrangements were also made to assist all passengers to continue their onward journeys on other airlines without much delay.
