Swisstek Aluminium goes hi-tech in power coating

Swisstek Aluminium Ltd., a member of the Lanka Walltiles Group, has commissioned its new fully automated powder coating plant with the very latest German technology, which will further enhance value addition to its products.



The plant from Wagner, Germany ensures the very best quality to international standards, whilst increasing the powder coating capacity of Swisstek Aluminium by over 300%.

The plant was commissioned by the Company Chairman Anthony Page and Managing Director Mahendra Jayasekera at a simple function held at the factory premises in the presence of leading architects, engineers, fabricators and dealers. Engineer from Wagner, Michael Rossi, who was involved in the installation of the plant was also present. Also representing Wagner were Senior Vice President Franz Maier and Regional Business Development Manager Gopinath Murthy who arrived in the country for the occasion. The state of the art machine has many a control and monitoring device to ensure an even application throughout the profile, to required micron levels in meeting international standards. The Company will also introduce in the next few days the very latest treatment methods for its powder coated products which will further increase the manufacturing capacity of the company. The new methods will include the treatment of mild steel so that the company can undertake powder coating of mild steel products as well. In addition to now being able to supply powder coated products to best quality standards, the Company will soon introduce Wood finish products and Bright finish products, to add to its range.

Having received the ISO certification not so long ago, the latest technology in powder coating became yet another feather in the cap for Swisstek in a very short span since the company came under the umbrella of the Walltiles Group. The Company currently enjoys a 30% market share in the industry and this is bound to increase with the latest developments.
