The best in the business display their wares at ‘Construct 2012’

The biggest players in the construction industry will show off their latest innovations at Sri Lanka’s largest construction exhibition, ‘Construct 2012’.

The grand event is set to take place on 10, 11 and 12 August at the Sirimavo Bandaranaike Memorial Exhibition Centre. Customers, enthusiasts and industry stakeholders alike, will come to witness a display of the construction industry’s cutting edge technologies. United Tractors and Equipment (UTE) (Pvt.) Ltd, who have been long time supporters of the event, are backing the exhibition for the fifth time.

The exhibition organised by the National Construction Association of Sri Lanka is a key event in the industry’s calendar in the South Asian region. Now in its 12th consecutive year, ‘Construct’ draws participants from Malaysia, India, Pakistan and China. Truly an international event, it allows construction firms to share their latest offerings and for visitors to gain an understanding of the industry.

Impending trends such as the move towards using more energy efficient construction machinery will be key going forward and the exhibition is a great place to see the innovations that will drive them.”

The construction machinery industry is currently seeing a transformation driven by increasing fuel costs and the growing importance placed on environmental responsibility. This has made the development of fuel efficient and low emission engines for heavy machines a research and development priority amongst equipment manufacturers. The global leader Caterpillar has introduced ACERTTM, amongst other technologies, in response to this global demand. At this year’s exhibition UTE, as local agents for CAT, UTE will display and demonstrate how their energy efficient equipment can help local contractors reduce the energy costs of their projects.

Ismail also elaborated on the visitors, “The exhibition isn’t just for us, the players in the industry but for all those with an interest in construction. This is the fifth year that UTE is participating in the Construct exhibition and its fourth consecutive year as the main sponsor of the Construction Machinery and Equipment (CME) show. This year UTE is emphasising the importance of machinery support and training within the industry.
