The satellite transmitted television channel of Sri Lanka Thinetha TV’ this week launched its official website www.thinetha.tv at the Ministry of Mass Media and Information.
Ministry Secretary Dr. Charitha Herath, Director General of Department of Information Prof. Ariyarathne Athugala and Director of Department of Information Wasanthapriya Ramanayake graced this occasion as chief guests.
Launching the website, Rohan Weliwita, Chairman of Thinetha TV and also a senior journalist in Sri Lanka, said that the objective of Thinetha TV is to promote patriotism and to inform the development activities taking place in Sri Lanka to other countries.
Speaking at the launch, Dr. Charitha Herath outlined the necessity of a TV channel of this kind and he wished all success for Thinetha TV.
Renuka Balasooriya, Sunil T. Fernando, V. Sivadasan and Janitha Marasinghe were among the well-known individuals present at this event.
Thinetha TV will start its transmission soon and will be telecasted to 116 countries around the world.
