Treasury Secretary to focus on Government’s goals at budget seminar today

The Sri Lankan Government’s much awaited budget for 2014 will come under intense focus this week at the annual budget seminar organised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka), with Secretary to the Treasury; Dr. P.B. Jayasundera scheduled to deliver the keynote speech focusing on the Government’s goals and expectations. Scheduled to be held on Saturday, 23 November 2013 at the Grand Ballroom of the Galadari Hotel, the seminar will also feature Department of Inland Revenue Commissioner General Mallika Samarasekara as a speaker, among an expert team of panellists who will delve in detail on the Government’s 2014 budget proposals which were presented in parliament on 21 November by President Mahinda Rajapaksa. During his keynote speech, Dr. Jayasundera is expected to use the CA Sri Lanka seminar as a platform to emphasise on the Government’s budget strategy for the upcoming year. The panellists will include Deputy Secretary to the Treasury S.R. Attygalle, Department of Fiscal Policy Senior Tax Advisor Dhammika Gunathilaka, Department of Inland Revenue Deputy Commissioner General H.B.A. Seneviratne, CA Sri Lanka Faculty of Taxation Chairman N.R. Gajendran, CA Sri Lanka Faculty of Taxation Member Duminda Hulangamuwa and CA Sri Lanka Faculty of Taxation Member Shamila Jayasekara.
