Unilever South Asia Head visits Sri Lanka

Unilever Executive Vice President South Asia and the CEO and Managing Director of Unilever in India Nitin Paranjpe is visiting Sri Lanka.

As a key market in South Asia, Paranjpe’s visit is to Sri Lanka is aimed at reviewing Unilever Sri Lanka’s short and long term growth plans. No doubt he will also be focussing his attention on how the local business is geared to overcome the recent economic shocks and share his thoughts and experiences of managing in turbulent times.



In order to meet the growing and increasingly diversified needs of the consumer, Unilever invested US$ 50 million in a new manufacturing facility at the BOI Zone in Horana, close to the Southern highway.

Unilever manufactures 95% of all its products in Sri Lanka, and this new facility enables the company to deliver faster product innovations, while improving overall production and environmental efficiency.

The company is also looking at further investments in the future to increase scale.

During his visit, Paranjpe is expected to address the employees on the expectations from Unilever Sri Lanka towards Unilever’s global ambition of doubling its business, while halving its environmental footprint.
