Unilever Sri Lanka yesterday issued the following statement on the fire involving its factory in Horana:
A fire broke out at Unilever Sri Lanka Horana Factory in the Horana Export Processing Zone, on 4 February.
The fire was fully contained, and we can confirm that there have been no injuries or casualties. Our first priority is to ensure the safety of our people and community, and all safety measures are being taken in this regard.
At this time, we are yet to determine the cause of the fire. We are working closely with the relevant authorities in the ongoing investigation, and we are thankful for the support extended by all involved stakeholders. We will strive to maintain supplies of products to our consumers.
