Unilever Sri Lanka ranked 4th most respected entity

Unilever Sri Lanka was ranked as LMD’s 4th most respected business entity in Sri Lanka retaining the rank it held last year.

The ‘Most Respected Entities in Sri Lanka’ is a survey conceptualised by LMD – the leading business publication in the country and conducted by the A. C. Nielsen, which annually ranks the most respected entities in Sri Lanka.

Unilever was the highest ranked multinational in this survey and was also the highest ranked Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Company amongst the top 100 Corporates. In the all important ‘quality consciousness’ category, Unilever Sri Lanka tied for 2nd place whilst being ranked 3rd as the ‘most innovative company’. Unilever Sri Lanka’s ‘management profile’ was ranked 4th in the survey. Unilever’s ‘corporate culture’, honesty and vision for the future’ was ranked 5th whilst on ‘dynamism it was ranked in 6th position. On ‘corporate social responsibility’ (CSR) the company was ranked 8th. What is most impressive and speaks volumes for its long standing links with the people of Sri Lanka is Unilever’s ranking of 8th on ‘nation mindedness’, confirming that Unilever Sri Lanka is seen as a truly ‘multi-local multinational’.  Speaking on this achievement, Unilever Sri Lanka’s Chairman, Amal Cabraal stated, “It is truly gratifying to be once again voted among the very top most respected entities in the country. More so, retaining our position as the No. 1 multinational and the top ranked FMCG company gives us much pride and joy.

This is indeed just reward for Team Unilever for its untiring efforts at growing the company whilst strengthening its links with the communities we serve.”

Through its extensive distribution network, Unilever brands such as Sunlight, Signal, Lifebuoy, Surf and Astra to name but a few from a portfolio of 28 brands marketed in Sri Lanka, are within easy reach of the nation’s 4 million households, and have been successful in building a close and intimate relationship with its consumers and customers for over 100 years. Having invested US $ 50 million in a brand new manufacturing facility which is just coming on stream, Unilever is well set to stay in the hearts and minds of Sri Lankans in the decades to come, fulfilling their everyday requirements in nutrition, hygiene and personal care.
