University of Bedfordshire, UK forges MOU with SLF

Professor Ashraf Jawaid, Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Bedfordshire and Nicolae Pavel, International Marketing Director, visited Sri Lanka Foundation (SLF) for a review meeting as an initial step to commence graduate and post graduate degree programmes and entered into a memorandum of cooperation.
The University of Bedfordshire is a large UK university with a wide range of expertise that is employed within a community development ethos in all partnerships it engages in. It is expected that this relationship will initially provide affordable vocational degree programmes with a view to expanding the range of provision.
SLF as a centre for leadership, education, and training offers a wide range of academic programs in dynamic fields namely, social and institutional development, psychology and counselling, business and enterprise management, language and ICT, digital film academy, tourism and hospitality management and the centre for wellbeing.
The SLF was incorporated by an Act of Parliament in 1973 and functions autonomously under the purview of the Presidential Secretariat and is managed by a Board under the chairmanship of Professor Ranjith Bandara.
In partnership with the University of Bedfordshire the SLF has planned to launch graduate and post graduate degree programmes in the near future. The introduction of these programs will undoubtedly open a new chapter in the field of education in Sri Lanka.
The University of Bedfordshire has been operating across the world for many years. In the University system, it is approximately a 24,000 student community with more than 5,000 students from over 100 countries who study in undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
