UTE drives golf once again at the RCGC

The exclusive distributors of the world famous Caterpillar brand, for over 65 years, UTE, are once again powering golf at the Royal Colombo Golf Club(RCGC).

From the 7th, with the sponsorship of July’s Monthly Medal, and culminating with the Pin Fernando Golf Tournament played from the 14th through to the 17th.

The tournament is dedicated by the RCGC to the late Pin Fernando, a former Chairman of UTE, who is still considered the best amateur golfer that Sri Lanka has produced, and is one of the most prestigious events on the RCGC golf calendar.

The format of this event which combines both medal play and match play on handicap is a true test of golfing skill and ensures that the final winner is a worthy champion. This year, UTE have added colour to this event by offering a trophy to the Ladies of the RCGC in the name of Pin’s wife, the late Pam Fernando, who created her own niche in the annals of golf by entering the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest lady to win a National Championship.
