At the Annual General Meeting of the International Publishers Association. President of the Association, Youngsuk “YS” Chi, met with President of the Sri Lanka Book Publishers Association Vijitha Yapa.
He was given a briefing of the activities of the publishers in Sri Lanka, and the recently concluded Colombo International Book Fair. He said he enjoyed his visit to Sri Lanka in 2011 and looked forward to another visit to meet with local publishers.
The International Publishers Association (IPA) is an international publishing industry federation of National Publisher Associations representing book and journal publishing industry.
It is a non-profit and non-governmental organisation, founded in 1896 to promote and protect publishing and to raise awareness for publishing in the context of economic, cultural and political development. The IPA actively opposes censorship and promotes copyright, literacy and the freedom to publish.
