HNB Assurance Plc Managing Director Manjula de Silva and Managing Director Hayleys Industrial Solutions and Head of Hayleys Power and Energy Sector, Dr. Arul Sivagananathan was appointed as Deputy Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively at the event attended by over 300 CIMA members.
Currently serving as the Group Chief Corporate Officer/Director of Aitken Spence Group Ltd., Vipula Gunatilleka is the Managing Director responsible for the information technology, business process outsourcing, audit and risk management functions and as well as the indian leisure sector and the technology sectors of Aitken Spence.
He is a fellow member of CIMA UK, ICA Sri Lanka, CPA Australia and holds a MBA from the University of Colombo. He is also a GE Trained Six Sigma. Vipula started his accounting career at KPMG in Sri Lanka and counts over 20 years of senior leadership experience with some of the leading conglomerates and multinational corporations in Sri Lanka, Singapore and Australia.
Prior to joining Aitken Spence, he worked as the Group CFO of Dialog Axiata Plc.
Vipula was a key member of the senior management team responsible for restructuring the Dialog Group and implementing many key strategic initiatives to turn around the Dialog group. He was also the CFO/Acting CEO of SriLankan Airlines and played a pivotal role during the management transition of the national carrier from Emirates to the Government of Sri Lanka in 2008.
Vipula has been a board member of CIMA Sri Lanka since 2010 and has held the positions of Vice Chairman in 2013 and the Deputy Chairman in 2014. He has been a board member of the Sri Lanka Auditing and Accounting Standards Monitoring Board since 2013 and served as a council member of SLASSCOM from 2012 to 2014.
