VPEL adds 4.5 MW more

Vallibel Power Erathna Plc last week said that it has successfully completed the construction of another mini hydro project.

The 4.65 MW Kiriwaneliya Mini Hydro Power Project at Norton Bridge is a subsidiary of the Company and has commenced commercial operations.

 VPEL is the largest private owned hydro power operator producing 10MW whilst the total private sector installed capacity of 175MW.  

On completion of the other venture Denawaka Ganga (Ratnapura) which will produce 7.2 MW, VPELL will be adding 11.85 MW in total via the two projects.
