Briefing the employees of the new strategy that Lanka Sathosa will start employing
Lanka Sathosa will be revived and made profitable, Industry and Commerce Minister Rishad Bathuideen announced when he opened its newest outlet in Mathugama.
Sathosa operates almost 325 retail outlets across the country with a turnover of nearly Rs. 50 billion in a financial catering to middle and lower middle income households in the country which gives a social marketing platform while striving to be a profitable enterprise for the country, according to a news report from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
“Whilst ensuring that the correct product mix is available we will first computerise all the outlets so that proper data is captured for better decision making by the management to cater to your needs,” said Minister Bathuideen.
“We want every outlet manager to be responsible for the stocks in each outlet and to ensure we cater to a typical shopper’s requirement with responsibility. I want Lanka Sathosa to be a model retail chain in Sri Lanka,” emphasised the minister, who has employed KPMG to partner the new strategy development process.
