The American Center will host a web-chat on “Internet Entrepreneurship with Ambassador Matthew Barzun” Commemorating the Global Entrepreneurship Week taking place on Monday, November 25th at 4:00 pm at the American Center. This will be a live, interactive webchat from Google’s East London campus featuring Internet pioneer and U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom Matthew Barzun. Ambassador Barzun was one of the first employees at CNET Networks, where he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer; during his time there, he launched Download.com, which grew to become CNET’s biggest site. He also led the effort to build one of the first comparison shopping sites on the Internet, Shopper.com.  Barzun went on to co-lead all of CNET’s online properties. Since leaving CNET in 2004, he has advised and invested in start-up Internet companies, including MedTrackAlert, which delivered consumers information about their prescription medications, and JiWire, an advertising network for wireless devices. Ambassador Barzun will discuss his experience as an entrepreneur and take questions live via the CO.NX Portal.
