Work on new complex for Treasury starts

Action was taken to construct a new office building in order to meet adequate office space required for Treasury affairs. The foundation stone to a new five storied building which is proposed to be constructed in the Treasury premises under the instructions and the guidance of Dr. P.B. Jayasundera, Secretary to the Treasury, was placed yesterday by Dr. B.M.S. Batagoda and S.R. Attygalle, Deputy Secretaries to the Treasury. The area of the new building which is constructed under the instructions of the State Engineering Corporation is 4,497 square feet. The functions of the Treasury Departments will be accomplished efficiently after the completion of this building which is proposed to be constructed within 630 working days.
