Workshop on best practices in project management

CICRA Education has announced a one day interactive workshop on best practices in project management on 29 March in Colombo.

This limited seat workshop is a must attend for middle to senior level managers and anyone who is interested to pursue a career in project management, Dr. Madhu Fernando, Trainer and Head of CICRA Center for Project Management Excellence said.

Participants will learn how project management can transform their organisations through good governance, right support, tools and a system, and will be more confident in managing any challenging project, Dr. Fernando said.

The workshop will teach introduction to project management, project management framework and the benefits of project management. It will cover complete project management process from initiating to closing including planning a project, and executing, monitoring and controlling a project.

The one day training will also cover project organisations and the role of the senior management in project, program and portfolio management, roles of stakeholders; benchmarking organisational project management maturity levels with the world’s best with Project Management Institute, USA recognized organisational project management maturity model (opm3) and developing a standardised and consistent world class project management methodology based on PMI standards, Dr. Fernando said.

The workshop will also deal with high level of project efficiency and project success through close monitoring and control including change and risk management; soft side of project management : building and managing a high performing team, and developing their interpersonal skills; including communication, influencing, negotiation and conflict management, she said.

Dr. Fernando is a globally renowned Project Management Trainer and Consultant. She has trained more than 2,000 PMP exam takers during the past seven consecutive years.

She  has been profiled in PMI USA Leadership Issue 2005; She has been selected as PMI USA’s one of the 25 most influential women in Project Management in the world by PM Network USA Magazine 2006; she has also been profiled among five Successful Women in Project Management in PMI USA Career Central 2011.
