World Bank’s Dr. Srinivas to speak at SME Forum

Dr. P.S. Srinivas, who heads the World Bank’s Trade and Competitiveness Global Practice in Asia will be a part of the keynote panel of the upcoming ‘National Forum on SME empowerment 2014’. Dr. Srinivas will speak under the title of, ‘The role of SMEs in Economic Development: International Experience and Perspective’, at the upcoming forum, which is organised by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce. An expert on helping firms, sectors and countries to improve productivity and competitiveness, Srinivas will take the stage on the very first session of the ‘National Forum on Small and Medium Enterprise Empowerment 2014’ to be held on 13 and 14 October 2014. His World Bank role involves, leading the World Bank team in providing advice, lending, knowledge services and products to client countries in Asia and also focuses on the themes of increasing economic growth and creating better jobs. Srinivas holds an MA and a PhD in Economics from the Cornell University, New York and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, among several other qualifications, under his belt. Prior to start working for the World Bank, he has worked for the Asian Development Bank and the ICICI Bank of India. The National Forum on Small and Medium Enterprises Empowerment 2014 organised by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce will be held across two days, which will discuss the current status of the local SME sector and its way forward.
