A new Petrol-Gas bi-fuel injection technology has been introduced to Sri Lanka, which can be installed in any petrol vehicle, significantly reducing fuel expenses by 40%. A subsidiary of LAUGFS Holdings Ltd., the new Electronic Gas Injection technology aptly named ‘EGI Hybrid’ was launched on 3 December 2013 at Grand Monarch, Thalawathugoda. The world renowned Electronic Gas Injection (EGI) system or Sequential Gas Injection system is one of the most state-of-the-art developments achieved in the alternative fuel industry, giving owners of petrol vehicles the choice of running on LPG, a much cheaper and more eco-friendly alternative to conventional petrol. The EGI Hybrid system can be installed into any vehicle with an Electronic Fuel System (EFI), without any alteration or damage to the original fuel system or engine of the vehicle. The equipment comes complete with plugs and sockets. The grand occasion of introducing the EGI Hybrid to Sri Lanka was graced by Chairman W.K.H. Wegapitiya, Managing Director Thilak De Silva and the management of LAUGFS Holdings Ltd., Consultant Dr. Ravi Mudalige, Automobile engineer and specialist in Motor Technology Lal Alawatta and many other corporate clients. LAUGFS Holdings Ltd. Chairman W.K.H. Wegapitiya took a few minutes to speak about the advantages of a bi-fuel injection system such as EGI Hybrid in a country like Sri Lanka in need of a solution for the drastically rising fuel costs. He further spoke about the benefits of EGI Hybrid, as a 40% cost saver that is ideal for individuals and small families looking for relief from the cost of living and in order to save money. LAUGFS Holdings Managing Director Thilak De Silva who also spoke at the event ensured the quality of all accessories and components within the EGI Hybrid system which are made in Europe and are manufactured and approved by the European homologation standards (E67-R01). EGI Hybrid is fully automated, with the bi-fuel system starting on petrol and switching to LPG for running, without the need for manual intervention. As implied by the name “Hybrid”, both petrol and LPG fuel systems are well synchronized to meet the requirements of the engine. The fully automated system executes the switch from petrol to LPG so well that it would not even be detected by the driver. For more information about EGI Hybrid, visit the EGI Hybrid Centre at No. 260 H, Kaduwela Road Koswatta, Battaramulla, or contact EGI Hybrid on 011576112 or 0115761133 via telephone.
