As the authorised dealer in Sri Lanka for the world-renowned Yamaha Waverunner and its range of marine engines, Associated Motorways (AMW) announced that the TR-1 High Output marine engine has been honoured for its excellence in design by the National Marine Manufacturers’ Association (NMMA) of the USA. The NMMA Innovation Award, presented annually at the Miami Boat Show, is considered the most prestigious awards ceremony in the boating industry worldwide.

Regarded as the pinnacle of innovation in marine engines, the Yamaha Waverunner TR-1 swayed the judges with its design revolution that was achieved by eliminating a reduction gear, integrating the oil tank, and using fewer and smaller parts – resulting in quicker acceleration, higher top end speeds, with better fuel economy and more fun for the rider.

This is the second time in a row that Yamaha’s marine engines have been thus honoured by NMMA. Yamaha’s RiDE system, incorporating the world’s first handlebars with dual throttle controls, received the innovation award in the Personal Watercraft category, last year.

Receiving this coveted award two years in a row reflects Yamaha’s commitment to constant innovation and bringing new technologies and features to the market. This unwavering dedication makes customers’ experiences with Waverunner marine engines even better and safer, every time they are out on the water.

For the legions of Yamaha Waverunner customers, this comes as a blessing, twice over, as they can count on Yamaha’s technological superiority, along with AMW’s superlative customer service support. This is of utmost importance, because traversing the rough sea calls for timely support of the highest level of reliability, at all times’ stated a spokesman for AMW.

Yamaha Waverunner’s stunning performance at the NMMA awards will no doubt go a long way in enabling Associated Motorways crest the waves as a leading player in Sri Lanka’s maritime industry.

Founded in 1949, AMW has consistently, over 65 years, grown to become the preeminent group in the industry.
