At a groundbreaking corporate event held at Cinnamon Grand Colombo on Wednesday 27 May, YKG Associates (YKG) launched the world’s first website which is a dedicated resource on CEO Communication for leaders. The event was also the first CEO Communication forum to be held in the country.

Commenting on the launch, YKG Managing Director Yukthi K. Gunasekera stated, “YKG filled a gap in the CEO Communication space globally. For example, if a CEO needs a few simple steps on how to face a TV interview, he or she can find that on the YKG website – at ‘CEO Corner Office’. Alternatively, if a CEO needs more in-depth information on CEO Communication, he or she can find it in the ‘CEO Library’ – on the YKG website.

“We sincerely hope Sri Lankan CEOs will visit this website – www.ykgassociates.com – and make a difference in the way they communicate, thus making a difference for all their stakeholders. YKG also welcomes feedback from CEOs: this will enable YKG to deliver ever greater value to the CEO community worldwide.”

At the launch event, Toastmasters International USA Former World President Dr. Dilip R. Abayasekara congratulated Yukthi on his pioneering efforts to introduce CEO Communication to Sri Lanka and thus make an indelible difference in the corporate sector. Being the sole speaker at the launch, Dr. Abayasekara emphasised the critical importance of CEO Communication, stating that it is now a ‘must-have’ competency – not a nice-to-have. Explaining the importance of CEO Communication to the audience, he asked, “Why does CEO Communication matter? It matters because it enhances CEO leadership, heightens CEO credibility, builds internal reputation, boosts employee engagement, empowers employees, increases ability to drive change, engages stakeholders, and manages crises. These are good enough reasons for us to take CEO Communication seriously.”

An overwhelming majority of CEOs from diverse industries – including apparel, automobile, banking, finance, hospitality, ICT, insurance, manufacturing, office automation, real estate, and retail – who were present at the launch found the event crisp, enjoyable, and informative.
