Young Indians biz delegation and FCCISL hold discussions

A business delegation from Young Indians from Erode, Coimbatore of South India visited Sri Lanka recently and had a meeting with the President and Senior Officials of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL).

The delegation reaxpresented the product and service sectors including food processing, textiles, infrastructure (construction), manufacturing, edible oils, IT, healthcare and chemicals.

President FCCISL Tissa Jayaweera welcomed the delegation to FCCISL. In responding to the queries made by delegates, business opportunities in Sri Lanka for infrastructure development, housing, sugar manufacture, textile and garments, liquor and cotton were discussed in detail. The facilities available for foreign investors to invest in Sri Lanka were also explained.

The FCCISL also briefed them on the forthcoming SME Machinery Fair and explained the opportunities available for foreign participants.

The representative of MAS Holdings informed them about the collaborative opportunities in the MAS Thulhiriya Fabric Park, which is the world’s first environmentally sustainable apparel and fabric park, which accommodates the first warp knit project in South Asia. The delegates from India stated that this was the most fruitful discussion they had in Sri Lanka.
