Young professional appointed to Orient Garments Board

Asoka Obeyesekere has been appointed to the Board of Orient Garments PLC, as an Independent Director. Asoka Obeyesekere is a Barrister-at-law of the Inner Temple. He holds a Masters Degree in Comparative Politics (MSc.) from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and an Undergraduate Degree in Law (LLB) from Queen Mary College, University of London. Currently he works as a Governance Consultant at Verité Research, a Colombo based think-tank. He has previously worked in the corporate tax practice of Ernst & Young LLP London. OGL also announced the resignation of W.W. Priyankara from the Board with effect from 12 March. Following the latest changes, the Board of Directors of OGL Plc comprises of A.A.S. Gulamhusein (Chairman), S.P. Perera (Executive Director/CEO), U. Abeykoon, I. Zahir, L.M.F. Adams, D.M. Gulamhusein, I. Shabbir, T. Senthilverl and A. Obeyesekere.
