Young Professionals to advocate for a ‘Strong Sri Lanka’ today

The Young Professionals Organisation (YPO) will hold its Colombo District convention today (11 March) at 5:30 p.m. at the Royal College Union Skills Centre, under the theme ‘Young Professionals for a Strong Sri Lanka’. The convention will unveil its campaigns on ‘Sri Lanka, United’ and ‘The Right to Information,’ which are expected to build a strong Sri Lanka for its citizens. Guest speakers former Education Minister Dr. Karunasena Kodituwakku and former telecommunications industry CEO Dumindra Ratnayaka will share their thoughts on united Sri Lanka while the newly-appointed Editor of The Sunday Observer and free media activist Lakshman Gunesekera will speak on why Sri Lanka needs the Right to Information. The YPO, which is headed by the Chief Opposition Whip of the Western Provincial Harshana Rajakaruna, is an affiliated body of the United National Party, with broad-based membership.
