Coconut industry crisis: Are we seeing only the tip of the iceberg?

Sri Lanka had to import fresh coconuts from neighbouring India in a bid to moderate the rising price of coconuts in the open market during the last Christmas season. The quantity imported had been insignificant, but it appeared to have hurt the Sri Lankans’ pride in a big way.
