1000 children to receive educational gift packs via Commercial Bank e-Exchange

The Commercial Bank will reward 1,000 children of ‘e-Exchange’ recipients with 20,000 exercise books for the new school term in 2014 during the months of November and December.
Packs consisting of 20 exercise books of multiple sizes are to be given away through a draw for children nominated by remitters or recipients of remittances via e-Exchange, the Bank said.
This promotion will run from 1 November to 15 December, and remitters around the world or the recipients in Sri Lanka may nominate a child via SMS. The recipients have to SMS the reference number of the remittance together with the name of the child to 0710-327327 to be eligible for the draw.
Each reference number sent will be valid for only one entry for the draw.
“Through the years, we have noticed that during this time period many remitters send money to purchase school book lists. We thought it would be ideal if we can reward the children of remitters with school books,” Commercial Bank e-Banking Services Chief Manager Pradeep Banduwansa said.
“e-Exchange is a sophisticated real-time, online money transfer service and has proven to be one of the most popular options for remittances over the past few years,” he added.
“Remitters have the advantage of transferring funds to a beneficiary in Sri Lanka instantly even without having an account in the Bank.”
