Sasunata-Diriyak-Stage-5

The fifth stage of the ‘Sasunata Diriyak’ (Support for religion), the social service movement initiated by Kanrich Finance, was held ceremonially, at the Irabadagma Senanayake Samadhi Viharaya, recently. The Buddhist Auditorium, that the monastery had needed, was constructed and offered to the Sangha. This program is being implemented in terms of a concept of Kanrich Finance Director and CEO Shiran Weerasinghe.

Kanrich Finance Assistant General Manager (Information and Technology) Ravi Joseph speaking at this ceremony stated: “This event takes place as the fifth stage of the ‘Sasunata Diriyak’ movement of Kanrich Finance. Kanrich Finance has extended its helping hand to a national service, the objective of which is the upgrading of various temples and monasteries that lack essential facilities. In our country almost all cities and villages have a large number of Buddhist shrines. But only a handful of those possess the necessary facilities.

“Through our program of assisting Buddhist monasteries in places where many low-income earners live, we implement this Buddhist Religious and Social Service movement under the theme ‘Sasunata Diriyak’. This is a service that is of benefit to the total Buddhist community. Besides, we see this movement as the laying of the initial foundation, to preserve the Buddha Sasana for the benefit of the future generations.”

Ven. Irabadagama Buddhananda Maha Thero, Chief Incumbent of the Vihara, other Ven. Monks, along with Kanrich Finance AGM Ravi Joseph, Kanrich Finance Wennapuwa Branch Manager Rasika Disanayake, Anuradhapura Branch Manager Lakmal Weerabandu, Puttalam Branch Manager Gamage and other members of the staff participated in the event. Members of the Society of Devotees of Irabadagama Senanayake Samadhi Vihara and members of the local community also took part in this ceremony.
