In a heartwarming display of corporate social responsibility, the Abans Group recently celebrated its 13th Annual School Supply CSR Initiative.
The event, spearheaded by Abans Warehousing Division Deputy General Manager Ranjith Gajanayake, unfolded at the Abans Kollupitiya Head Office and the Kadolkale facility in Seeduwa. With a focus on supporting the education of Abans Group employees’ children, the initiative reached over 1,000 youngsters ranging from Montessori level to Grade 12.
The comprehensive school supply packages distributed during the event included essential items such as school shoes, backpacks, lunch boxes, exercise books, and various stationery items. The benevolent initiative not only alleviated the financial burden on the families but also ensured that every child started the new school year equipped and ready for academic success.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of Abans Group Director Dr. Saroshi Dubash, alongside key senior management and staff. Dr. Dubash, in an inspirational speech, underscored the significance of hard work, persistence, and determination in shaping a successful academic and professional future. She encouraged the children to pursue their dreams while emphasising the importance of responsibility and citizenship. The speech concluded with a reaffirmation of Abans’ unwavering commitment to providing high-quality education for children across all socioeconomic backgrounds.
