Another socially important initiative from Mercantile Investments

Mercantile Investments has committed towards another sustainable initiative; helping to uplift the educational levels in rural and under-privileged areas by providing reading and study books for schoolchildren of all age groups in Nidagam Pelessa Embilipitiya Vidyalaya and Godakawela Makandura Vidyalaya. The project was conducted under the theme ‘Akuru Ahidimu – Lokaya Aluthen Liyamu’ on 10 October and was conducted by the CSR committee of the company.

In parallel to this, the Micro Finance Division of the company organised a special event at Nindagam Pelessa Embilipitiya Vidyalaya which included fun-filled interactive motivational session, IQ session, singing, dancing, debating events, group activities and drawing competitions for the primary section. Furthermore, the organisers donated a printer which was needed by the school along with the stationaries for all of the schoolchildren.

As an organisation which carries social responsibilities, Mercantile Investments expects to extend their supportive hand towards more schools with disciplined children and dedicated teachers as they met at Embilipitiya.
