Ceylinco Life has funded seven seminars this year that have benefitted more than 1,800 students from different areas of Sri Lanka who are currently preparing for the Year 5 Scholarship Examination to be held in December.
The seminars took place in Aralaganvila, Galenbidunuwewa, Kantale, Kiribathgoda, Kurunegala, Matale and Nattandiya. The company said it will conduct three more seminars before the date of the examination.
These programs were delivered by a well-known teaching instructor who specialises in conducting practice sessions for the Year 5 Scholarship examination with past papers and model question papers.
“Education has always been a priority area in Ceylinco Life’s community support programs,” the company’s Assistant General Manager/Deputy Head of Marketing Dhiranjan Canagasabey commented. “The youngest segment rewarded by our Pranama scholarships program comprises of students that excelled at the Year 5 scholarships. Besides the scholarships program, Ceylinco Life also builds and donates classrooms for needy schools. The seminar program complements these activities.”
Ceylinco Life has been organising similar programs for scholarship students since 2010 and has completed over 100 seminars that were attended by more than 30,000 students over the years. When COVID-related social distancing regulations were in place, these programs were delivered virtually via Zoom, the company said.
Ceylinco Life also presents Pranama Scholarships program which provide financial support to policyholders’ children who achieve the best results in their respective districts at the Year 5 Scholarship examination, the GCE Ordinary Level and the GCE Advanced Level as well as to those who excel at the national level in sports, invention, drama, cultural activities, or display other special skills. Among those recognised at the latest edition of the program were 28 students who excelled at the 2021 Year 5 Scholarship examination who each received Rs. 120,000, payable in instalments over five years.
